NEW YORK - Sept. 8 2022 /PRNewswire/- Today the Israel Ministry of Tourism announced record-breaking numbers of travelers from the United States who visited Israel during July and August. Israel received 78,000 visitors from the United States for July 2022. This is a 4 percent increase over 2019 and 71,000 tourists from the United States for August 2022. This represents an increase of 13% over 2019.

Already surpassing the record-breaking numbers of 2019, he added. "The United States is our number one market for travel to Israel, and before the COVID-19 pandemic, we were celebrating record-breaking tourist numbers month after month; We're so happy to see an improvement in the trend and anticipate a steady upswing for the months and years to follow."
Canada is on track to surpass Israel's tourist arrivals by attracting 7,200 tourists to Israel in July 2022, and 6,600 tourists in August.

Israel has welcomed more than 4.6 million visitors in the year 2019. 969,600 of them were from the United States. The country's officially reopening to travelers in May was a success, with more than 600,000.
