NEW YORK, Sept. 8, 2022 /PRNewswire The Israel Ministry of Tourism announced today record-breaking numbers of tourists from the United States visiting Israel in the months of July and August. Israel welcomed 78,000 tourists from the United States in July 2022, a 4% increase from the year before, and 71,000 total travelers from the United States in August 2022 which is an increase of 13% from 2019.

"The United States remains our largest market for Israel-bound tourism. Before the COVID-19 epidemic there was a record-breaking number of tourist entry numbers every month. We are delighted to see this positive shift and are expecting an ongoing upward trend for months and even years.
Canada is also on track, just as the United States, to surpass its tourist arrivals into Israel. In July 2022, Canada had 7,200 visitors while August witnessed the number increase to 6,000.

We're close to reaching our record-setting numbers for the year 2019, and we anticipate that this increase in travel to Israel will continue to grow as Canadians are more comfortable at home in Israel.
Israel welcomed over 4.6 million tourists in 2019. 969,600 were from the United States. The country's official reopening for all tourists in May was a success, with more than 600,000.
