NEW YORK - Sept. 8th, 2022/PRNewswire• In July and August 2018, the Israel Ministry of Tourism announced record numbers of tourist arrivals from the United States. Israel received 78,000 visitors from the United States for July 2022. This represents a 4% rise over 2019, and 71,000 visitors from the United States for August 2022. This represents a 13% improvement from 2019.
Eyal Carlin (North American Tourism Commissioner) said it was exciting to observe a rise in Israeli tourism from the United States. Already surpassing our record-breaking figures for 2019, he said. "The United States is our most popular destination for tourism to Israel and prior to the COVID-19 epidemic, we were celebrating record-breaking tourism entry numbers each month. We're so happy to see such a positive shift and we anticipate an upward trajectory for months and years to be."
Canada is not far from that of the United States of America, is poised to surpass its tourist arrivals to Israel. It had 7,200 tourists in July 2022, and 6,000 visitors in August.
Gal Hana is the Consul and Director for Canada in the Israel Ministry of Tourism. "We aren't far off our record in 2019 and we are anticipating that the rise in travel to Israel will continue to grow as Canadians are more comfortable traveling internationally."
Israel welcomed more tourists from all over the world during 2019 than any other country. 969 600 were American. Israel's official reopening for all tourists was in May of 2018. The country has already been home to more than 600,400 US travelers since then.
